Terms in Online Media (Pilot Study)
The article attempts to determine the domains from which terms usually get into the daily online media and whether the most popular terms undergo any more prominent changes (terminological variation, determinologization are discussed). The pilot study focuses on two-word terms found in the publicly available DELFI.lt corpus, which is composed of the texts published in the news portal under the same title in the period between 2014 and 2016. Though the methodology applied has certain weaknesses, it enables us (as much as possible) to analyse terms without any prejudices, i.e., by not anticipating the domain or specific terms.
