Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

  1. Articles are published in Lithuanian, English or Russian. All articles of the main sections (“Terminology and the Present”, “History of Terminology”) are blindly peer reviewed by two reviewers.
  2. It is requested to present articles in an MS Word format (.doc or .docx) that runs on the Windows operating system. The main body of the text should be typed in Times New Roman. If special fonts are used, their files should be presented.
  3. Before the text the title of the article and not less than five key words should be indicated. In addition to the article, an abstract (up to 800 characters) must be provided in English and the language of the article. At the end of the text the date when the article is presented should be indicated.
  4. Examples should be italicized; when necessary, spacing could be expanded; examples should not be put in bold type. Word meanings should be given in inverted commas of a configuration appropriate to a particular language.
  5. Literature cited in the text should be presented in brackets: author’s name, year and after a colon – page number; if not an author but a first letter or other abbreviation of a publication (dictionaries, etc.) is used, a year should also be indicated. Page numbers of dictionaries need not be indicated.
  6. The titles of publications should be presented in Italics and the titles of articles – in inverted commas. When mentioning a person in the article for the first time, both the first name and the surname should be given. Conclusions are required.
  7. There should be a list of references at the end of the article. References should indicate both the location and the publishing house. Pages of articles should be indicated (from – to). Before the references a list of sources could be presented.
  8. Articles of the main sections should have summaries (1500–2000 characters).
  9. The authors bear full responsibility for the quality of the language of the article. If the article is not in the author’s native language, the author may be asked to ensure that the text is edited by a native-speaker editor prior to submission for publication.
